I have three 1 yard cuts of fabric that I have been wanting to use, but haven’t found a good pattern for.. until now. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful pattern. I will be making this for my mother in law for Christmas.
What a lovely idea, she will love it. We didn't use the full three yards of fabric for the lap quilt you will have fabric left over from the quilt, (unless you intend making it larger). A matching pillow case or cushion cover would be nice to make as an addition.

Things I learned today; maybe I shouldn’t have started with making the cushion cover first… In my defence, it’s the first cushion cover I’ve made, and I hand stitched it all, including one side which I quilted. I think I figured out how to make it work though 🤞
😊. I absolutely admire people who hand stitch projects, it's just not my forte. Yep, I'll sew on a but or take up a hem but if I can use my machine, that's my preference.

You make cutting with your rotary cutter look so easy! Somehow when I cut the ruler (usually as I reach the end) always seems to move away from the cutter and I spoil my cut😢. Maybe you can give me a tip - maybe I don’t used the cutter properly? I don’t know!
The main things are keep pressure on the ruler, have a sharp blade in the rotary cutter and hold the rotary cutter upright - not on a slant. If you have trouble with the ruler slipping, cut part way and then move your hand up the ruler and apply pressure once again. You can also add a weight to the end of the ruler furthest from you and that may help. Practice with some scraps until you get the hang of it. I was hopeless when I first started using a rotary cutter, having come from a time where we only had scissors.
